April Stories

April began with the first of my weddings this year... and what a start! I used the stunning Lullaby roses by Qualirosa for this gorgeous lilac and cream wedding for Louise and Robert, who were married at the Crown Hotel in Bawtry.

I was also involved in another photo shoot with Folega Photography who needed flowers for a collaboration with Music Mills. The models wore gorgeous dresses by The White Room in Sheffield, with Make-up Artist Sarah Gray and hair by Hannah.

I went for a lush, garden-esque look with peonies, ranunculus, earl grey roses, scented sensation roses, along with trails of clematis and jasmine.

At the end of the month I received a lovely commissioned bouquet for a client who wanted to send a 'just picked' looking bouquet. I used delphiniums, phlox, lizyanthus, fifth avenue roses, and english grown lilac and solomon seal.

I really enjoyed creating my flat-lays when I found some spare time. The Makelight challenge is certainly getting lots of interest on my social media pages, but I think a little more practice is required!

I finally had the chance to use my lovely ribbons by Kate Cullen for my weddings, which matched the theme perfectly.

Over on the blog this month was the stunning wedding of Jennifer and Peter at The Secret Garden at Gringley-on-the-Hill, not far away from Bawtry. Jennifer's bouquet consisted of white peonies, white O-hara roses, sweet avalanche roses, bombastic roses, sweet peas, astilbe and pink spirea, all finished with english-grown passion flower trails and senico foliages.
